AGREEMENT
ON COOPERATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE STATE OF KUWAIT IN THE SPHERE OF TOURISM

 

The Government of the Republic of Armenia (hereinafter referred as Ministry of Economy) and the Government of the State of Kuwait (hereinafter referred as Ministry of Commerce and Industry), hereinafter referred to as the Parties,

 

willing to establish closer cooperation in the sphere of tourism and recognizing tourism as an effective instrument of familiarization of the history, the cultural heritage, the lifestyle of the nations of the Parties, as well as a means of expression of good will between the people of the two nations,

 

have agreed on the following:

 

ARTICLE 1

 

The Parties agree to cooperate in the sphere of tourism in accordance to this Agreement and the legislation of their countries.

The cooperation between the Parties provided by this Agreement shall be realized particularly in the following directions:

- support to establishment and development of cooperation between the entrepreneurs in the two countries,

- assistance to establishment of relations between public and other non-profit organizations in the field of tourism in the two countries,

- youth participation in tourism development in the two countries, including youth reciprocal visits,

- assistance to investment attraction in the field of tourism,

- exchange of information in the sphere of tourism,

- exchange of experience in state regulation of the tourism sphere

- organization of reciprocal familiarization trips for tour-operators and journalists of the two countries.

 

ARTICLE 2

 

The Parties, through their respective authorized state bodies, shall assist to the establishment and development of cooperation between investors, entrepreneurs as well as public and other non-profit organizations in the sphere of tourism.

 

ARTICLE 3

 

The Parties shall cooperate in exploration and evaluation of the tourist resources of the countries for tourism development, destination management, hotel construction, tourism marketing and other spheres. The Parties, in accordance to their legislation, shall assist the efforts made in these directions.

 

ARTICLE 4

 

The Parties, in accordance to the legislation of their countries shall endeavor to facilitate the procedures of tourist visits between both countries.

 

ARTICLE 5

 

The Parties shall exchange specialized groups for participation in sports, musical, theater events and national festivals, as well as exhibitions, symposiums and conferences concerning the field of tourism.

 

ARTICLE 6

 

The Parties shall assist each other in preparation and training of human resources in the field of tourism, encourage exchange of specialists, experts and journalists in the field of tourism.

 

ARTICLE 7

 

The Parties shall boost cooperation within membership to international organizations related to tourism.

 

ARTICLE 8

 

The Parties shall assign their respective authorized state bodies, regulating the field of tourism, to implement the present Agreement.

 

ARTICLE 9

 

In case of necessity the Parties shall set up a Joint Commission, composed of equal number of authorized representatives from each country, to settle matters concerning the implementation of the present Agreement. The meetings of the Commission shall take place upon necessity in Yerevan and Kuwait. The Joint Commission shall act in accordance to the statutes, confirmed by itself.

 

ARTICLE 10

 

The discrepancies during implementation or interpretation of the provisions of the present Agreement shall be settled trough diplomatic ways.

 

ARTICLE 11

 

By mutual agreement, changes and amendments can be made to the present Agreement, which shall be formulated by separate protocols and shall enter into force in accordance to the procedures provided be Article 11 of the present Agreement, and shall make inseparable parts of the present Agreement.

 

ARTICLE 12

 

This Agreement shall enter into force from the date of the last notification whereby one of the Parties informs the other in writing through diplomatic channels that it has satisfied the constitutional procedures for its entry into force.

This Agreement can be amended with the consent of two Parties and amendment will be effective according to the procedures mentioned in the previous paragraph.

This Agreement shall remain in force for a period of five years and automatically renewed for same periods, unless either Parties notice the other in writing about this intention to terminate this agreement within six months from the termination of the initial period or any extended period.

 

Done on the 15th of thulqida 1430H. corresponded on 3rd November 2009, in two authentic copies, each in Armenian, Arabic and English.

 

In case of discrepancy of interpretation of the present Agreement the English text shall prevail.

 

The Agreement has entered into force on 10.10.2012
